Seeing Peacocks

For those of you unfamiliar with with South Florida's sub-tropic slice of heaven, it is not uncommon to see wild peacocks in the neighborhood.

Whether about to play some baseball or driving down the road, these birds are easy to spot.  With their interesting calls that sounds like a shrill woman's voice saying "Carol" (but drawn out like Caaaaaaaarol!), it was a cool awakening for me when I moved to Miami.

Here is one strutting its stuff right on my block!

I also enjoy the two mating Macaws that make their daily scheduled flights over my house.  They are beautiful creatures that never left the area even after "Parrot Jungle" moved from Piencrest to an island on the causeway to Miami Beach and became "Jungle Island".  A decent attraction if you are ever in these parts for vacation...
