New Traffic Circle in Palmetto Bay
/As many of you know, construction is now underway at the crossing of SW 168th Street and SW 82nd Avenue. The intersection used to have a standard traffic light and was subject to heavy traffic during rush hours.
Traffic circles tend to lower accident rates and speed up intersections, which is exactly what Palmetto Bay decided do to here since traffic in the mornings can often back up on 168th Street all the way to 87th Avenue.
I was asked to help out Palmetto Bay and the Youth Community Involvement Board yesterday to assist in an educational video showing the proper use of a traffic circle.
UPDATE 1: Today (8/17/17) I saw work being done until 7 p.m. Here is the progress that shows several of the feeder islands now framed out.
