North Palmetto Bay Fire Rescue Station Update

Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Station 62 is ever closer to going active at the southeast corner of Old Cutler Road and SW 142 Terrace. As you may have seen, the trailers are now in place and backhoes and diggers are active on the site.

Scott Mendelsberg, Assistant Director Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, told me today that they are waiting for sewer and communication hook-ups to occur and within 30 days the temporary station will go into service.

At that time, Engine 62 will permanently move to the station and with it come three paramedics and one officer (also a paramedic) who will be stationed there 24/7/365.

Yes, the timeline is a bit delayed, but faster response times are on their way for residents in the area.
