Palmetto Bay's Deering Estate to Host “Wine on Harvest Moon” Event

Mark your calendar for 7 to 10 p.m. this Saturday, October 3 for South BMW's eighth annual Wine on Harvest Moon event.  The Deering Estate at Cutler is a Miami-Dade County park at 16701 SW 72nd Ave., in Palmetto Bay.

The event will highlight wines of central and northern Italy as well as Italian cuisine prepared by some of Miami's top chefs.  The Florida International University School of Music will provide a Strolling Travotori.  There also will be a limited number of gondola rides.

The Wine on Harvest Moon event helps with historic preservation, natural habitat conservation and the cultural arts at the Deering Estate.

It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation.

For the Harvest Moon event, general admission tickets are $60 for foundation members and $75 for nonmembers.

VIP tickets are $120 for foundation members and $150 for nonmembers. VIP ticket holders receive parking privileges and are invited to arrive one hour early to enjoy a special VIP Tasting with Professor Chip Cassidy, wine director of Crown Wine & Spirits, as well as a culinary tour with the event sommelier Veronica Litton.
